Dissociation Consultation & Education for Therapists
Dissociation doesn't always look the way we were taught.
It doesn't always involve obvious shifts in identity, lost time, or visible disconnection. Sometimes it shows up in clients who are articulate, engaged, insightful, and seemingly functioning well.
Many therapists receive very little training in recognizing and working with dissociation. I experienced those gaps myself early in my clinical career, and I know how challenging it can be when something about a client's experience doesn't quite fit what we've been taught to expect.
You don't need to have all the answers to begin recognizing dissociation. Sometimes the most important starting point is noticing what doesn't quite make sense, slowing down, and becoming curious about what might be happening.
Through consultation and education, I help therapists develop a deeper understanding of dissociation, explore complex clinical presentations, and feel more confident responding to what they're noticing in their work.
WHAT I OFFER THERAPISTS
Individual Dissociation Consultation
I offer consultation for therapists who want support recognizing, understanding, and responding to dissociation in their clinical work, including clients experiencing DID, OSDD, and other complex dissociative presentations.
Consultation is a collaborative space to slow down, explore what you're noticing, and consider what might be happening beneath a client's presenting difficulties. We might explore protective responses, internal conflicts, shifts in functioning, or moments when familiar therapeutic approaches don't seem to be helping.
My approach draws on clinical experience, specialized training, and an appreciation for the perspectives of people who live with dissociation. Rather than offering a single formula, I want to help you develop your own understanding and make thoughtful clinical decisions.
Individual consultation: $100 for 50 minutes.
Reduced rates are available for associate-level therapists and clinicians within their first two years of private practice. I know how important access to consultation can be when you're developing your clinical skills and finding your footing as a therapist.
Training & Education
I also develop educational resources for therapists interested in deepening their understanding of dissociation and developmental trauma.
My educational work emphasizes recognizing dissociation in everyday clinical presentations, understanding its protective functions, and responding with greater awareness and curiosity.
I also share educational content on Instagram at @dawn.warren.counseling.
Let's Talk About Consultation
If you're wondering whether consultation might be helpful for a particular client or you'd simply like to deepen your understanding of dissociation, I'd be glad to connect.
I offer a brief introductory phone conversation so we can talk about what you're looking for, answer any questions, and see whether my consultation services would be a good fit.
You don't need to have a clearly defined question or know exactly what kind of support you need before reaching out.
Consultation is intended for professional development and case discussion; it is not clinical supervision or EMDR consultation toward certification.
